A Glimpse Into Our Gorgeous 2024 Winter Marquee Wedding
On Friday, December 20th, 2024, Juniper & Co. stepped onto the site of what would soon become the wedding of a lifetime in Newbury. The big day was set for December 21st, with 200 guests, bespoke canapés, a three-course menu crafted just for them, personalized cocktails, Guinness bars, and memories that would last a lifetime.
But the magic didn’t happen overnight. This incredible production began long before the 20th, and we’re beyond excited to share a sneak peek into how we brought this dream to life.

Every Event is Individual
When we first met India and Harry, we immediately understood that their vision for their wedding was no ordinary feat. They had an idea of what they wanted – personal, funny, gorgeous, and above all, a true reflection of their love. As we delved into their story, we heard how it all began – from their shared passion for puddings, to Harry’s obsession with honey, to India’s childhood dream of the perfect wedding. It became crystal clear: this was going to be a wedding like no other, and every detail had to be infused with their personalities.
Sustainability at the Core
As a sustainable caterer, it’s essential for us to ensure that every menu is crafted with seasonality at the heart. For this winter wedding, we focused on highlighting seasonal delicacies and making sustainability part of the experience. Ginger became a star ingredient, inspiring bespoke ginger cocktails for the evening reception. We worked with seasonal ingredients at the heart of the menu, from aubergine and horseradish to winter greens and short rib of beef. And of course, we couldn’t forget the salted honey custard tart – a showstopper that paid homage to Harry’s love for honey and was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. At Juniper & Co., we love creating bespoke menus, and this one was especially close to our hearts, with every dish designed to feel personal and unique.

Organisation is Key
Unlike a traditional venue wedding, a marquee wedding comes with its own set of unknowns, making organisation absolutely crucial. After a site visit and reviewing the marquee design, the work begins months in advance. Our team is booked, transport and hotel stays for staff are arranged, catering equipment is sourced, and the process of planning every detail unfolds. We work closely with our partners at Options Greathire, ensuring we have the right linens, charger plates, glassware, and cutlery to bring the vision to life.
As the wedding day approaches, the prep becomes a finely tuned machine. Our chefs begin preparing up to 1000 canapés, 200 starters, mains, and desserts, along with additional evening food – a process that takes up to five days. And just a day before the wedding, we’re setting up the venue, building our kitchen from scratch, arranging tables, and setting the bar. We count every piece of cutlery, every wine glass, and every candle to ensure the space feels seamless and stunning. It’s a thrilling moment when we transform an empty space into a beautiful, perfectly styled venue. On the day itself, we’re there for everything – lighting 200 candles, delivering 200 perfectly crafted dishes, and ensuring every glass is collected with care at the end of the night. No detail is overlooked, and the experience is nothing short of flawless.
